Eva's hair transplant and complimentary therapies

At the age of 65, Eva came to us with a tear in her triangles. Genetically, her hairline had always been more curved and her triangles rarer, but based on what she said, the hair condition in these areas had deteriorated rapidly in the few years before the intervention. In the background of the thinning, we suspected androgenic female pattern hair loss, which was accompanied by an underfunctioning thyroid gland, the two together could cause the noticable thinning.

Eva underwent a mesotherapy treatment in the first round, which, although strengthened the hair, did not bring an improvement to the extent that she would have been satisfied with. However, enriching the affected skin area with nutrients laid the foundation for further interventions. In order to make sure of the success of the hair transplant, we performed a trial procedure, during which a small amount of hair was transplanted into the affected areas. This was successful, so we scheduled a transplant of 1,500 hairs for the triangular areas.

Since we were successful again, we continued with the next intervention, where in addition to thickening the triangles, we also brought the hairline forward.

The new hairline has become femininely rounded, it restructured the face and created a healthy visual on the front.

At the 6-month follow-up of the second surgery, Eva shared her complete story with us, her experiences so far and her satisfaction with the new hairline:

"Genetically, my hair has always been thinner in the triangles - so getting a good hairstyle was a problem for me even at a young age. In addition, I don’t have much hair and it is also quite thin. This was compounded by the fact that around the age of 50, my health condition took an unfavorable turn, which also required medication. These processes also resulted in hair thinning and hair loss. I could barely hide the balding in the triangles.

When I found out that hair transplantation existed, I didn't take it seriously at first that it could help me. But I was always open to new things, I asked and made a decision. Even the fact that my commitment projected a program of several years did not deter me. Because of the hormonal differences, we had to make sure with a trial implantation whether the result of the intervention would be permanent. My body reacted well, and the test hairs were waiting for their next companions.

If only the information had reached me sooner! Now, when I have a beautiful hairline, I am very happy that I went through this process, which is aesthetically pleasing, but also brought mental improvement in all respects."

In addition to all this, Eva does a lot for the health of herself and her hair. She uses a cell rejuvenating serum on her scalp, takes zinc, selenium, and algae complex to maintain her hair condition, and plans to start another mesotherapy treatment in the near future.

What causes hair loss in men?
Most often, hair loss is caused by a converted form of testosterone, the DHT hormone. This hormone is essential for our body, and since the hair follicles are genetically sensitive to it, balding can be experienced even with low or normal hormone levels.
How does hair transplant work?
We work with one’s own hair. The resistant, strong hair follicles are extracted from the back and side regions of the scalp and implanted in the bald areas at the right angle and density.
Is the result long-lasting?
The result lasts a lifetime, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the DHT hormone and retain this property in their new location. Thus, by transplanting them to the bald areas, they remain strong and viable for a lifetime.
Will a new hair grow in place of the extracted follicles?
Unfortunately, no, so it is very important that the follicles are removed with the right method and density so that no trace of the removal remains after the skin has healed.
Is it possible to extract without leaving scars behind in the donor area?
Yes! At Reneva, in a unique way in Hungary, we choose the size of the punch diameter based on individual characteristics. The punch size is also adjusted during the operation depending on the strength of the hairs located in the different donor regions. Considering the size of the hair follicles and the density of the hair, we work with the smallest possible diameter punch to ensure that the surgical area heals without a trace. Our basic principle is that for a truly aesthetic hair transplant, great emphasis must also be put on preserving the integrity of the donor area.
When will the hair transplant have a viable result?
We usually have a partial aesthetic result already in 5-6th month, especially if we stimulate the regeneration of the hair follicles with mesotherapy treatments 2-3 months after the surgery. We see a final result 10-12 months after the procedure.
Does the hair start to grow immediately after the procedure?
Minimal growth can be seen in the first month, but after that the transplanted hairs fall out. Within 4-6 weeks, however, we can already see the new, growing hairs. Then it is worth helping the regeneration with mesotherapy sessions.
Is it enough to have only one hair transplant?
This depends on the pattern and extent of baldness. One intervention may be sufficient if a smaller bald area is reconstructed. If the hair loss is extensive, or continues after surgery, several interventions may be necessary to achieve the perfect result.
Does hair transplant hurt?
The operation is performed under local anesthesia, the process of which is accompanied by an unpleasant stinging sensation. For this reason, at Reneva, we use a special technique that makes the intervention more comfortable in both the donor and recipient areas.
How should one prepare for surgery?
A laboratory test is required before the intervention, there is nothing else to do. It is not recommended to drink coffee directly before surgery, and all previously prescribed medications must be taken before the surgery.
What should be done after surgery?
In the 3 weeks following the operation, you must avoid sweating, sports, physical work, you must not bend, lift weights or smoke. The implanted area should be sprayed every 2 hours for 3 days with the solution received on the day of surgery. From the 4th day, shampoo foam must be applied ont he implanted area twice a day until the one-week check-up.
When can I return to my pre-surgery routine?
On the 10th day, the hair follicles are embedded, after which one can return to their normal routine with caution. Activities involving strong sweating can be performed again 3-4 weeks after the intervention and the new hair can then be treated in the same way as in its original place, it can be cut, dyed, etc.
