Roland’s hair transplantation

In the case of Roland, the androgenic hair loss appeared specifically in the triangles, where only stray hairs could be discovered, but the vertex area wase also particularly affected, which he covered with longer hair. To be able to remedy both areas, we planned a two-day surgery, transplanting in the area of the triangles and the front on the first day, and concentrating ont he vertex on the second day.
On the day of the surgery, we documented the hair condition and carefully drew the hairline, considering Roland's request that it be as straight as possible and that the transition to the sideburns be more angular. We refined this with a very small curve.
During the operation, 7,042 hairs were transplanted from the donor area of the scalp. Of these, 3,894 hairs were transplanted to the missing frontal areas on the first day, and 3,148 to the vertex area on the second day. After the operation, we provided Roland with detailed instructions for the 3-4 weeks following the operation.
Roland's post-surgery period went without any complicattions. On the pictures sent on the 2nd day after the operation, a slight swelling was visible in the forehead area, which was absorbed in a few days. The wounds of the donor area had contracted, and the implanted area had also began to heal, but it was still covered with scabs.

He washed the implanted area by soaking it with shampoo foam twice a day, thus by the 7th day the scalp was completely cleaned, the scabs disappeared, only a slight redness remained, and the donor area also began to heal without a trace.

7 days after the surgery, the implanted area was already aesthetic:

After that, Roland washed his hair with a gentle soaking method every 2-3 days until the one-month follow-up. By this time, the transplanted hair had fallen out. The follow-up examination was conducted online.

At the 3-month follow-up, the new hairline began to emerge, and the donor area was completely healed. Roland hasn't cut his hair since the surgery, so it's 3-4 cm in the 3-month picture.

After 11 months, Roland returned to us with a fresh and lush hair style.

At 11 months, the current hair condition is already close to the final result. Some strengthening is still expected, but for those whose regeneration is faster anyway, we can actually consider the 11-month picture as final.

Roland left our clinic satisfied, and we are celebrating his one-year milestone with a surprise video. If you are interested in watching it, come back to the page in a few weeks or follow us on our social media platforms!

What causes hair loss in men?
Most often, hair loss is caused by a converted form of testosterone, the DHT hormone. This hormone is essential for our body, and since the hair follicles are genetically sensitive to it, balding can be experienced even with low or normal hormone levels.
How does hair transplant work?
We work with one’s own hair. The resistant, strong hair follicles are extracted from the back and side regions of the scalp and implanted in the bald areas at the right angle and density.
Is the result long-lasting?
The result lasts a lifetime, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the DHT hormone and retain this property in their new location. Thus, by transplanting them to the bald areas, they remain strong and viable for a lifetime.
Will a new hair grow in place of the extracted follicles?
Unfortunately, no, so it is very important that the follicles are removed with the right method and density so that no trace of the removal remains after the skin has healed.
Is it possible to extract without leaving scars behind in the donor area?
Yes! At Reneva, in a unique way in Hungary, we choose the size of the punch diameter based on individual characteristics. The punch size is also adjusted during the operation depending on the strength of the hairs located in the different donor regions. Considering the size of the hair follicles and the density of the hair, we work with the smallest possible diameter punch to ensure that the surgical area heals without a trace. Our basic principle is that for a truly aesthetic hair transplant, great emphasis must also be put on preserving the integrity of the donor area.
When will the hair transplant have a viable result?
We usually have a partial aesthetic result already in 5-6th month, especially if we stimulate the regeneration of the hair follicles with mesotherapy treatments 2-3 months after the surgery. We see a final result 10-12 months after the procedure.
Does the hair start to grow immediately after the procedure?
Minimal growth can be seen in the first month, but after that the transplanted hairs fall out. Within 4-6 weeks, however, we can already see the new, growing hairs. Then it is worth helping the regeneration with mesotherapy sessions.
Is it enough to have only one hair transplant?
This depends on the pattern and extent of baldness. One intervention may be sufficient if a smaller bald area is reconstructed. If the hair loss is extensive, or continues after surgery, several interventions may be necessary to achieve the perfect result.
Does hair transplant hurt?
The operation is performed under local anesthesia, the process of which is accompanied by an unpleasant stinging sensation. For this reason, at Reneva, we use a special technique that makes the intervention more comfortable in both the donor and recipient areas.
How should one prepare for surgery?
A laboratory test is required before the intervention, there is nothing else to do. It is not recommended to drink coffee directly before surgery, and all previously prescribed medications must be taken before the surgery.
What should be done after surgery?
In the 3 weeks following the operation, you must avoid sweating, sports, physical work, you must not bend, lift weights or smoke. The implanted area should be sprayed every 2 hours for 3 days with the solution received on the day of surgery. From the 4th day, shampoo foam must be applied ont he implanted area twice a day until the one-week check-up.
When can I return to my pre-surgery routine?
On the 10th day, the hair follicles are embedded, after which one can return to their normal routine with caution. Activities involving strong sweating can be performed again 3-4 weeks after the intervention and the new hair can then be treated in the same way as in its original place, it can be cut, dyed, etc.
