Zoltan’s hair transplantation

Zoltan came to us with male-type androgenic hair loss affecting the entire scalp. The triangles and hairline wear bothered him the most, and he wanted a one-day intervention in the first round.

A week before the surgery, Zoltan attended donor mesotherapy session, during which we prepared the surgical area by enriching the scalp with active ingredients.

On the day of the surgery, we documented the hair condition and carefully drew the hairline, paying attention to the original one, which we reconstructed based on old photographs and stray hairs.

During the operation, 3382 hairs were transplanted from the donor area of the scalp to the missing frontal areas. After the surgery, we provided Zoltan with detailed instructions for the upcoming 3-4 weeks following the surgery.
Zoltan's post-surgery period passed without any complications. On the pictures sent on the 2nd day after the operation, we saw that the wounds of the donor area had contracted, and the implanted area had also begun to heal, but it was covered with scabs.
He washed the implanted area by soaking it with shampoo foam twice a day, thus by the 10th day the scalp was completely cleaned, the scabs disappeared, only a slight redness remained, and the donor area also began to heal without a trace.
10 days after the surgery, the implanted area was already aesthetic:
After that, Zoltan washed his hair with a gentle soaking method every 2-3 days until the one-month follow-up. By this time, the transplanted hair had fallen out, the new hairs could be already seen breaking through the scalp.
2 and 3 months after the surgery, Zoltan took part in mesotherapy session, so at the 3-month follow-up, the new hairline had already started to appear, and the donor area was completely healed.
At the 4th month follow-up, we experienced a rapid change in just one month, and of course we also performed another mesotherapy session.

By the 6th month, Zoltan's transplanted hair had strengthened spectacularly. The coverage of the implanted area was close to that experienced in the donor area, which we were very happy about. However, as could be expected, the hairs of the mid scalp, due to their thinned state, do not provide as much coverage as the viable transplanted hairs, so despite the similarity in density, the coverage is different. In order to improve the overall effect, we are planning a thickening procedure on the mid scalp and the crown within a few months.

By the 10th month, we were already approaching the full final result, the transplanted hair had become stronger, and it was possible to create a fancy hairstyle. However, we are still planning a thickening surgery for the incomplete areas, although the current result is aesthetically satisfactory. Due to the naturalness of the hairline, it is difficult to determine that the hair has been transplanted in the triangles.

Here is Zoltan's adventure so far in pictures:

And the end result looks like this from several angles:

Although the overall picture is aesthetically satisfactory, as we mentioned earlier, we also wanted to remedy the wear of the rest of the scalp, so Zoltan has undergone the second thickening implantation. Now, in two days, we transplanted 2,191 grafts (5,149 hairs), further refining the hairline and thickening the mid scalp and the crown. At the 10-day check-up, it was no longer possible to establish that an intervention had taken place (picture on the right).

What causes hair loss in men?
Most often, hair loss is caused by a converted form of testosterone, the DHT hormone. This hormone is essential for our body, and since the hair follicles are genetically sensitive to it, balding can be experienced even with low or normal hormone levels.
How does hair transplant work?
We work with one’s own hair. The resistant, strong hair follicles are extracted from the back and side regions of the scalp and implanted in the bald areas at the right angle and density.
Is the result long-lasting?
The result lasts a lifetime, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the DHT hormone and retain this property in their new location. Thus, by transplanting them to the bald areas, they remain strong and viable for a lifetime.
Will a new hair grow in place of the extracted follicles?
Unfortunately, no, so it is very important that the follicles are removed with the right method and density so that no trace of the removal remains after the skin has healed.
Is it possible to extract without leaving scars behind in the donor area?
Yes! At Reneva, in a unique way in Hungary, we choose the size of the punch diameter based on individual characteristics. The punch size is also adjusted during the operation depending on the strength of the hairs located in the different donor regions. Considering the size of the hair follicles and the density of the hair, we work with the smallest possible diameter punch to ensure that the surgical area heals without a trace. Our basic principle is that for a truly aesthetic hair transplant, great emphasis must also be put on preserving the integrity of the donor area.
When will the hair transplant have a viable result?
We usually have a partial aesthetic result already in 5-6th month, especially if we stimulate the regeneration of the hair follicles with mesotherapy treatments 2-3 months after the surgery. We see a final result 10-12 months after the procedure.
Does the hair start to grow immediately after the procedure?
Minimal growth can be seen in the first month, but after that the transplanted hairs fall out. Within 4-6 weeks, however, we can already see the new, growing hairs. Then it is worth helping the regeneration with mesotherapy sessions.
Is it enough to have only one hair transplant?
This depends on the pattern and extent of baldness. One intervention may be sufficient if a smaller bald area is reconstructed. If the hair loss is extensive, or continues after surgery, several interventions may be necessary to achieve the perfect result.
Does hair transplant hurt?
The operation is performed under local anesthesia, the process of which is accompanied by an unpleasant stinging sensation. For this reason, at Reneva, we use a special technique that makes the intervention more comfortable in both the donor and recipient areas.
How should one prepare for surgery?
A laboratory test is required before the intervention, there is nothing else to do. It is not recommended to drink coffee directly before surgery, and all previously prescribed medications must be taken before the surgery.
What should be done after surgery?
In the 3 weeks following the operation, you must avoid sweating, sports, physical work, you must not bend, lift weights or smoke. The implanted area should be sprayed every 2 hours for 3 days with the solution received on the day of surgery. From the 4th day, shampoo foam must be applied ont he implanted area twice a day until the one-week check-up.
When can I return to my pre-surgery routine?
On the 10th day, the hair follicles are embedded, after which one can return to their normal routine with caution. Activities involving strong sweating can be performed again 3-4 weeks after the intervention and the new hair can then be treated in the same way as in its original place, it can be cut, dyed, etc.
